FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book?
Book online via our booking link. If you can't see a suitable appointment time, contact us directly on info@tbsphysio.com.au to see if we can fit you in sooner.

Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly. If you have a referral or scan results, you are welcome to bring them along.

What do you treat?
Day to day aches and pains, gym and running injuries, sports injuries, and strength related issues. We also help with performance and long term capacity building.

What happens in the first appointment?
We take a detailed history, assess the problem thoroughly, and provide a clear diagnosis and plan. You will leave knowing what is going on, what to do next, and how we will progress you.

How long are appointments?
Initial and follow up consultations are 30 minutes. If you need multiple areas assessed, book an extended consultation.

What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing or activewear is best. We may need to assess movement and access the area being treated.

What should I bring?
Any relevant scans, reports, or referral letters (if applicable), and your private health card (physical or digital).

Do you communicate with coaches or school staff?

When helpful, we can communicate with relevant staff to support a smooth return to training. We only do this where appropriate and with consent.

Do you accept EPC or Medicare care plan referrals?
Yes. We accept GP care plan referrals, often called EPC or CDM plans. Medicare provides a rebate towards up to 5 eligible appointments per calendar year, but these are not free sessions and a gap payment still applies. You also cannot claim Medicare and private health insurance for the same appointment.

Is it covered by private health?

Yes. We have HICAPS in clinic and can process on-the-spot rebates for most major health funds. To claim at the time of payment, the physical health fund card or digital wallet card needs to be present. Health funds do not allow manual entry from a photo of the card or written card details. If the card is not available, you can pay upfront and claim later using the invoice we provide.

How do we pay?

Parents are emailed a same-day patient report outlining the injury, assessment findings and management plan. This email also includes the invoice, with our bank transfer details listed at the bottom. Payment can be made by bank transfer, by calling the clinic to pay over the phone, or at the time of the appointment using our HICAPS/EFTPOS terminal.

What is your cancellation policy?
We have a strict 24 hour cancellation policy. Late cancellations and no shows may incur a fee.

Do you offer performance testing?
Yes. Performance testing is for anyone who wants objective numbers to benchmark health and longevity, track progress over time, and guide training, rehab, and load decisions.

Do you offer recovery sessions?
Yes. Recovery sessions can be booked on their own, or added after your physiotherapy appointment.

Are recovery sessions covered by private health?
Recovery sessions are a separate service and are not typically claimable like physiotherapy. If you are unsure, ask us.

Where exactly do I go?

  • St Joseph’s College (Joeys): Please arrive at the Aquatic and Fitness Centre 15 minutes prior, then enter via the stairs on the basketball court side and wait outside the clinic room.
